Declaration for NGOs

As a non-governmental organisation, we recognize tourism as an important area of development policy. We welcome the “Commitment on Human Right in Tourism” and advocate its implementation.
1. We actively participate in the Roundtable Human Rights in Tourism and support a fair exchange based on mutual trust and competitive neutrality.
2. With the experiences of the Roundtable we advocate for the binding implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
3. Through media and press work we make human rights in tourism known to the general public.
4. We drive forward the networking with similar multi-stakeholder initiatives internationally.
5. We build, where possible, a bridge to civil society in the destinations and support the development of human rights due diligence by providing information on human rights violations in tourism.
6. We report publicly once a year on our progress.
