Workshop: How can tour operators assess human rights impacts in their value chains? Friday, 29 January 2021, 9 -11 am (online via ZOOM) Organized by Schyst Resande Moderated by Jara Schreiber (Roundtable Human Rights in Tourism) and Matthias Leisinger (focusright) Contents: In this practical 2-hours workshop, you will learn about Tourism and Human Rights, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in the field of tourism, and how tour operators and tourism businesses can work concretely to identify, prevent and manage risks and infringements of human rights in the supply chain. The workshop offers tools and methods for identifying, preventing and dealing with human rights violations in the supply chain. We work with a case methodology and you get the opportunity to practice in small groups concretely through a number of scenarios. The workshop is led by: Matthias Leisinger, former head of sustainability at KUONI, now works as a consultant focusing on sustainable business models and human rights due diligence. Jara Schreiber, project manager/ coordinator at Roundtable Human Rights in Tourism - a network for the travel industry and NGOs, with the aim of supporting companies to act for human rights. The workshop will be held in English and is explicitly targeted at tour operators. There is a limited number of places (maximum 20 participants).
