This initiative was led by the Roundtable Human Rights in Tourism, in collaboration with Brot für die Welt - Tourism Watch, DERTOUR Group, Kneissl Touristik GmbH, Studiosus Reisen München GmbH and with Fair Trade Tourism as local facilitation partner.The project explored the human rights and social impacts of tourism – with a particular focus on mid-range group travel – in key destinations such as Cape Town, Johannesburg, and the Greater Kruger area. During her five years with the REWE Group, she worked in the sustainability department on human rights issues in private label purchasing before taking up her current position as Corporate Responsibility Manager Human Rights at the DERTOUR Group 1.5 years ago. Joana studied Latin American regional studies, economics and ethics and spent several years in Latin America. In her current role, she is responsible for managing and implementing the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act and the topic of Child Safeguarding within the DERTOUR Group. Speaker:Jara SchreiberCoordinatorJara works as coordinator for the multi-stakeholder initiative and non-profit association Roundtable Human Rights in Tourism. She holds a degree in Cultural Studies (BA) and Sustainable Tourism Management (MA). Before joining the Roundtable in 2017, Jara worked, among others, for a sustainable tourism development consultancy and a tour operator specialised in Madagascar. She has profound experience in the fields of sustainable tourism and development as well as business and human rights.The Roundtable Human Rights in Tourism builds a trusted network of currently 34 tourism stakeholders from six countries.
