Statement of WomenFairTravel:

WomenFairTravel GmbH is a Berlin-based tour operator focusing on socially and environmentally sustainable small-group tours for women, currently offering unique tours in more than 30 countries around the world. Established in 2013 and rooted in feminist principles, we are committed to promoting gender equality, supporting local communities and women-led businesses, as well as ensuring ethical and sustainable practices in the tourism industry.

We see it as our business´ social responsibility to respect and promote human rights in all aspects of our operations; this includes, but is not limited to, paying fair wages to local guides and businesses, supporting community projects, and spreading awareness amongst customers on cultural sensitivity and environmental conservation.

Addressing human rights issues in tourism is a highly complex endeavour for tour operators that demands careful planning of business activities. By becoming members of the Roundtable Human Rights in Tourism, we can further amplify our efforts by collaborating with like-minded organizations, by adopting effective tools and practices and staying up-to-date on legal and political developments concerning human rights in Germany and in destination regions.
